Trade Benefits America Coalition Supports TPP; Calls For Passage In 2016

Washington D.C. – David Thomas, President of the Trade Benefits America Coalition – a broad-based group of more than 275 associations, businesses and agricultural groups – issued the following statement announcing the Coalition’s support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP):

"The Trade Benefits America Coalition supports the TPP and encourages Congress to pass legislation implementing the agreement in 2016. The Coalition also urges the Administration to resolve outstanding issues affecting various sectors as quickly as possible to further expand the benefits of TPP and promote even broader business support for the TPP.

"The TPP will benefit American businesses of all sizes, farmers, workers, consumers, and the U.S. economy by reducing trade barriers to goods and services exports and improving key standards and enforceable trade rules with the other TPP countries.

"The TPP is also a crucial opportunity to promote American leadership by enhancing partnerships with economic allies in a key region of the world."
